New Delhi: In a move to combat rising dust pollution, the Delhi Government has announced plans to install mist spray systems on 1,000 streetlights across key areas of the city.

The initiative aims to reduce dust particles in the air by releasing a fine mist from specially designed sprayers mounted on streetlight poles. The mist helps settle airborne dust, which is one of the major contributors to Delhiโ€™s poor air quality.

According to officials, the systems will be installed along high-traffic corridors, construction zones, and dust-prone areas where pollution levels tend to be higher. The project is part of the governmentโ€™s broader strategy to control particulate matter and improve environmental conditions in the capital.

Authorities believe the mist spraying technology will help suppress dust without causing water wastage, as it releases controlled amounts of water at regular intervals.

The installation work is expected to begin soon, with the government hoping the initiative will contribute to reducing pollution levels and improving public health across the city.
