Panaji, Goa: In a significant development for Goa’s emerging startup ecosystem, TiE Global, the world’s largest nonprofit organisation dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, has officially launched its TiE Panjim chapter. The announcement, made on February 26, 2026, marks Goa as the organisation’s 64th global chapter.

Addressing the media, the leadership panel featuring Rajesh Mehrotra, President of TiE Panjim; Madan Padaki, Immediate Past President of TiE Bangalore; and Ritu Sharma, Executive Director of TiE Bangalore, shared insights into the organisation’s journey and its vision for Goa.

Founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley, California, TiE Global has grown into a powerful global network supporting entrepreneurs through its five core pillars—mentoring, networking, education, funding, and incubation. Speaking at the launch, Padaki emphasised the importance of structured support systems for startups, highlighting how TiE connects local entrepreneurs to international networks, enabling knowledge exchange and access to early-stage funding.

He also elaborated on TiE’s mentor–mentee model, designed to foster meaningful and productive engagement between experienced industry leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. Initiatives such as TiE U, focused on student entrepreneurship, and TiE Women, aimed at empowering women-led ventures, were highlighted as key programs that will also be introduced in Goa.

Ritu Sharma underscored TiE Global’s commitment to inclusivity, noting that regional and gender diversity are deeply embedded in the organisation’s ethos. She explained that TiE Bangalore will support the Panjim Chapter during its initial phase, helping establish a strong foundation before it transitions into an independent and self-sustaining entity.

Sharing his vision for the state, Rajesh Mehrotra announced that TiE Panjim will begin its journey with TiE Women, aiming to create more opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Goa. He also revealed plans to collaborate with educational institutions across the state to nurture young innovators through mentorship programs, workshops, and networking platforms.

Mehrotra expressed confidence that the Panjim Chapter will play a catalytic role in shaping Goa’s entrepreneurial landscape. By fostering innovation, collaboration, and access to global networks, the initiative is expected to position Goa as a growing hub for startups and enterprise.

The press conference concluded with an interactive session, reinforcing TiE Global’s long-term commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem—now with Goa firmly on the map.
