1-Year-7-Month-Old Mehar Kaur Sets World Record for Answering 25 GK Questions

Haldwani (Uttarakhand), February 21: In a remarkable achievement, Baby Mehar Kaur from Haldwani has been officially recognised by the World Book of Records, UK, for becoming the youngest child to answer 25 General Knowledge questions at the age of 1 year and 7 months.


The feat has drawn international attention, with record-verification searches reportedly indicating no documented instance of a younger child accomplishing a similar milestone prior to this date. Her accomplishment has earned widespread admiration and recognition.

Mehar is the daughter of Dr. Harleen Kaur and Dr. Gurraunaq Singh, who expressed immense pride in their daughterโ€™s achievement. According to her parents, Mehar exhibited strong observation skills and quick learning abilities from an early age. They credited a nurturing and encouraging environment at home for supporting her development.

Santosh Shukla, CEO of the World Book of Records, congratulated the young achiever and praised her exceptional talent. He noted that such milestones reflect the vast potential of young minds when guided positively.

Virendra Sharma, five-time Member of Parliament from the United Kingdom and senior Labour Party leader, also extended his congratulations, describing the achievement as a matter of pride. Additionally, Wilhelm Jezler and Poonam Jezler, patrons of the World Book of Records based in Zurich, Switzerland, presented Mehar with an official certificate at the World Book of Records Summit & Awards held on February 9, 2026, in Indore.

The achievement has sparked celebrations in Haldwani and across Uttarakhand, with many lauding Meharโ€™s accomplishment as an inspiring example of early childhood excellence.
