Vaishnavi Adkar scripted history by advancing to the singles final of the ITF W100 Bengaluru, becoming the first Indian woman since Sania Mirza to reach a W100 final.


The 21-year-old from Pune ended a 17-year wait for Indian womenโ€™s tennis at this level, delivering a breakthrough performance on home soil. Entering the tournament as a World No. 690 wildcard, Adkar stunned the field with a series of impressive victories.

Her remarkable run included wins over two Top 150 players and a Top 250 opponent, showcasing resilience, composure and fearless shot-making against higher-ranked competitors.
