In a recent interview with PeepingMoon, Abhishek spoke warmly about the strong values Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has instilled in their teenage daughter.
Aishwarya’s Influence: Teaching Respect for the Industry
According to Abhishek, Aishwarya plays a major role in helping Aaradhya understand the world of fame in a healthy, respectful way.
“Aishwarya has instilled a great respect in Aaradhya towards the film industry and what we do,” he said. “She has taught her that we are what we are because of what the films and audiences have given us.”
He praised Aishwarya for helping Aaradhya build a solid foundation of humility and gratitude — qualities that, he believes, will serve her well as she grows up in the spotlight.
A Confident Teenager With Her Own Voice
Aaradhya, now 14, is growing into a confident youngster with clear viewpoints and a thoughtful way of expressing herself.
“She has an opinion. She is a very sure teenager… she has a wonderful way of conveying everything,” Abhishek shared.
Despite being part of one of India’s most celebrated film families, Aaradhya stays away from online chatter and the noise of social media.
Life Without a Phone: A Family Decision
Abhishek revealed that Aaradhya does not have a mobile phone yet — a conscious decision taken years ago. She uses the internet only for school-related work and research.
“Her friends contact her through Aishwarya’s phone,” he said, noting that she prefers spending time studying rather than scrolling through apps.
When asked about rumours and gossip surrounding her family, Abhishek said Aaradhya is well aware that not everything online is trustworthy.
“Her mother has taught her not to believe everything she reads,” he added.
Family Values Built on Honesty
Abhishek shared that their home operates on complete honesty, similar to how his own parents — Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan — raised him.
“We are completely honest with the family,” he said. “That leaves no room for doubt.”
He also confirmed that he gave up smoking and drinking when Aishwarya was pregnant.
“I have stopped both… I don’t touch them at all,” he said.
