In a step toward fostering cyber awareness among students and educators in Goa, Sulakshana Sawant attended the Cyber Security Essentials Workshop held at Zantye College, Bicholim. The session was led by noted cyber expert Dr. Rakshit Tandon, who is widely recognized for his extensive work in cybersecurity education across India.
Addressing a hall full of attentive students and faculty members, Dr. Tandon broke down complex cybersecurity issues into relatable, real-world challenges. Topics such as phishing scams, mobile safety, data protection, and best practices for secure internet usage were highlighted, aiming to instil a sense of responsibility and caution in the way young people engage with digital platforms.
Sulakshana Sawant, present at the session, emphasized the importance of equipping Goa’s youth with practical knowledge to defend themselves against online threats. She stressed that in an age of rapid digital growth, awareness must go hand in hand with technological adoption. “Let’s make Goa cyber-aware,” she said, encouraging more such initiatives across educational institutions in the state.
The workshop was not just informative but also interactive, with students engaging in discussions and asking questions about cybersecurity threats they face in daily life. Faculty members too echoed the need for regular sessions like these to stay updated in the evolving digital landscape.
By hosting such sessions at the grassroots level, Goa continues to make strides in promoting digital literacy and security, ensuring its students are not just connected—but also protected.
