Aldona, Goa | 1st October 2025 – St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona, marked Founders’ Day with a purpose-driven initiative: a First Aid Training session for its staff, in honor of its founder, Rev. Fr. Peter Marie Mermier.
Far more than a ceremonial observance, the day was rooted in action, aligning with the spirit of service and care that defined Fr. Mermier’s mission. The First Aid Training was designed to equip educators with essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations, making the school environment safer for all.
Staff members learned how to handle situations such as fainting, fractures, choking, and bleeding, along with CPR techniques and emergency response protocols. The training was interactive and practical, leaving participants more confident and prepared.
By choosing this format to celebrate Founders’ Day, St. Thomas H.S.S Aldona not only honored its rich legacy but also demonstrated its commitment to student and staff welfare. The day stood as a testament to the belief that education is not just about academics — it’s also about empowerment, preparedness, and compassion.
