Nand Ghar Marks Poshan Maah 2025, Reaches 3.5 Lakh Families Across 15 States

New Delhi, September 2025: Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative, Nand Ghar, has launched a nationwide campaign to mark Poshan Maah 2025, impacting more than 3.5 lakh families across 15 states under the theme “Poshan Se Pragati.”

Nand Ghar, a program that modernizes Anganwadis into vibrant centers of development, integrates nutrition, early childhood education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment to foster holistic growth in India’s most remote villages.

Three-Pronged Nutrition Strategy

  1. Direct Nutrition Support – Providing fortified supplements, Nutri Bars, and Protein Shakes while connecting families to government programs.
  2. Community Awareness – Training parents and caregivers, growth monitoring, and promoting sustainable practices using local foods.
  3. Technology & Partnerships – Leveraging digital tools and collaborations to track progress, deliver timely aid, and introduce innovative food solutions.

Key Campaign Highlights

From 12th September, Nand Ghars nationwide are conducting:

  • Recipe demonstrations with millet and local foods.
  • Parental training on dietary practices, maternal health, and child growth.
  • “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” sessions linking nutrition with learning outcomes.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, said:
“Poshan Maah is an important reminder of how critical nutrition is to India’s progress. At Nand Ghar, we are committed to ensuring that every child and mother in rural India has access to the right nutrition and knowledge to build a healthier future.”

Why It Matters

India continues to face significant nutrition challenges — with 37.5% of children under six stunted and 50% of women of reproductive age anaemic (NFHS-5). Nand Ghar’s efforts align with the Government of India’s nutrition mission to reverse these statistics and empower communities.

Proven Impact

Last year during Poshan Maah 2024, Nand Ghar served one lakh millet shakes across six states. Earlier in 2025, its Project Balvardhan in Rajasthan benefitted 80,000 children and mothers in aspirational districts.

Community-led PD Hearth sessions have also empowered mothers with skills to prepare nutritious meals, fostering peer support networks for long-term impact.

Looking Ahead

As Poshan Maah 2025 unfolds, Nand Ghar aims to scale proven nutrition solutions, strengthen community ownership, and promote locally sourced, indigenous foods to ensure sustainable change.
