In a beautiful blend of tradition and sustainability, the Goa Handicrafts Rural Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) has announced the launch of eco-friendly ‘Coconut Shell Rakhis’ at its flagship DIM Emporium in Udyog Bhavan, Panaji. Sales begin from July 21, 2025, just in time for Raksha Bandhan celebrations.
This initiative is part of GHRSSIDC’s broader mission to promote local artisans and preserve Goa’s indigenous craft culture. The coconut shell Rakhis are not only biodegradable and sustainable, but also intricately crafted, reflecting the skill and heritage of the artisans behind them.
The collection on display includes not just coconut shell Rakhis, but also a variety of other handcrafted styles featuring pearls, decorative stones, and local motifs, making them unique gifting options for those who want to blend celebration with conscious living.
Located opposite the Police Headquarters in Panaji, the DIM Emporium has become a popular destination for authentic Goan handicrafts and festival-themed items. By offering a platform to local craftspeople, GHRSSIDC continues to champion inclusive and eco-conscious development through handicrafts.
This Raksha Bandhan, tie a Rakhi that tells a story — of sustainability, culture, and love.
