In a significant milestone towards promoting sustainability and addressing water scarcity, the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera inaugurated a Sewage Water Treatment Plant (STP) at Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, on 21st May 2025. The STP is designed to convert sewage water into potable, reusable water, offering a sustainable solution to the growing need for clean water and environmental conservation.
The inauguration ceremony of the Sewage Water Treatment Plant marked the launch of Project Pure Water — an initiative supported under District CSR Grant CS2200062. This transformative project aims to help the community by providing treated, reusable water for various purposes, including irrigation, cleaning, and other non-potable needs. The innovative system addresses the urgent need for water conservation while reducing the impact of sewage pollution on local ecosystems.
The STP, with a total project cost of ₹13,00,625/-, is a key part of Rotary Club’s ongoing efforts to empower communities and create a greener, cleaner environment for the people of Goa. This project is set to benefit the entire community, creating a positive ripple effect for the future.
