As the sun sets on another busy day in the hospital, nurses like Martin Schiavenato reflect on the unpredictable nature of their job. The young mother, though calm, was faced with the unimaginable pain of losing her child. Martin stood beside her, feeling helpless as they both waited for the inevitable.
In a moment of poignant clarity, the mother asked Martin to baptize her baby before they passed away. Martin’s initial reaction was one of panic, unsure of what to do next.
