World Red Cross Day: Free Medical Camp Brings Healthcare to the Community


The Indian Red Cross Goa State Branch, in collaboration with Manipal Hospitals Goa, organized a free medical camp to commemorate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The event was held at the Red Cross Office in Panaji and saw a remarkable turnout, reflecting the growing trust in the work of the Indian Red Cross.


The Indian Red Cross Society has been rendering yeoman services to humanity, working tirelessly across the world to provide medical aid and healthcare services to those in need. The organization’s efforts have significantly contributed to the well-being of people in Goa, and the medical camp was a testament to its commitment to serving the community.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services
The medical camp offered a range of healthcare services, including:

  • Hepatitis diagnosis, conducted by the Directorate of Health Services
  • Consultations with specialists in neurology, oncology, and dentistry
  • Maxillofacial prosthodontics and clinical assistance

A team of dedicated healthcare professionals from Manipal Hospitals, led by Dr. Amrut S D, Dr. Vaibhav Shakya, and Dr. Mahadev Pokale, among others, provided their expertise and care to the attendees.

The event began with rich tributes paid to Jean Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross Society, on his birth anniversary. The theme of Red Cross Day 2025, “Keeping Humanity Alive,” resonated deeply with the attendees, highlighting the organization’s mission to serve humanity.

The Vice Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society Goa State Branch, Shri Manguerish Pai Raikar, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and the healthcare professionals who participated in the camp. The General Secretary, Shri John Aguiar, welcomed the guests and highlighted the organization’s various activities and services.

The medical camp was a resounding success, with people from different walks of life availing the services. The event demonstrated the Indian Red Cross’s commitment to providing healthcare services to the community and its dedication to keeping humanity alive.


Shri Rio Couto proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the medical camp. The event concluded on a positive note, with attendees appreciating the services provided and the efforts of the Indian Red Cross Society.
