Historic Partnership: MES Vasant Joshi College and St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University)


In a significant step towards academic excellence and collaboration, MES Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the prestigious St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. This partnership aims to strengthen, promote, and develop cooperation between the two institutions based on equality and mutual benefit.


St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, is a renowned institution with a rich history spanning 144 years. Established in 1880, it has been a beacon of academic excellence, offering programs in Humanities, Commerce, Science, Technology, and Management. The institution has been accredited with an A++ Grade by NAAC and was granted autonomous status in 2007. Recently, in January 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Union Ministry of Education approved its status as a Deemed to be University.


The MOU signing ceremony took place at St. Aloysius institution, Mangalore, marking the beginning of a new era of collaboration between the two institutions. The partnership will facilitate:

The MOU was signed by Principal Dr. Manasvi M. Kamat of MES Vasant Joshi College and Pro VC Rev. Dr. Melwyn D’Cunha of St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangalore. The ceremony was attended by esteemed faculty members from both institutions, including Dr. Ronald Nazareth, Dr. Alwyn D’Sa, Dr. Roshan, Mrs. Flora Castelino, and Mr. Satyawan Naik.
