The milestone event, ‘Khoshi Lokanchem Fest’ (The Happiness of People), will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the GCHS campus in Panaji.

A Celebration of Inclusivity

With the theme of ‘Inclusivity,’ the festival is a heartfelt tribute to the specially-abled community, celebrating their achievements, resilience, and contributions to society. Through performances, interactive sessions, and engaging activities, the event will highlight the talents and inspiring journeys of individuals who have overcome challenges and exceeded expectations.

A major highlight of the festival will be the active participation of GCHS students, showcasing their unique talents and reinforcing the college’s commitment to skill-based, inclusive education.

Notable Contributors and Special Highlights

The festival is a collaborative effort led by Principal Prof. Mahesh Pai, with on-ground execution managed by Assistant Professor Sheryl Afonso and College Counsellor Luella Dias. Under the expert guidance of Curator Marius Fernandes and Co-Curator Dr. Gwendolyn de Ornelas, the event promises to be a truly eye-opening experience.

Additionally, Senior Journalist Prakash Kamat will offer a journalistic perspective on the contributions of the differently-abled in the community.

One of the key moments of the festival will be the launch of Nicole Suares’ debut book, Across Three Continents: The Legacy of Antonetta Fernandes, published by Dr. Gwendolyn de Ornelas. The book chronicles the inspiring journey of Antonetta Fernandes, whose life has shaped Goa’s cultural landscape and continues to influence future generations.

As a special tribute, a painted Ghumot was gifted to Festakar Marius Fernandes by student Soniya Prabhu Chodnekar, symbolizing the spirit of Goa and the festival’s commitment to inclusivity.

An Invitation to the Community

More than just an event, ‘Khoshi Lokanchem Fest’ is a movement—a step towards awareness, inclusivity, and the celebration of human potential. The Goa College of Home Science warmly invites the community to be part of this meaningful and enriching experience.
