In a bid to enhance the safety and confidence of lady police personnel, a Self-Defence Martial Arts workshop was organized under the initiative of DIGP (Range) Smt. Varsha Sharma, IPS, and the guidance of SP Pink Force Smt. Ezilda D’Souza and LPI SPCR/Pink Force Mrs. Mira D’silva. The workshop was conducted by Miss Erica J De Sequeira, an international Jiu-Jitsu player, and her coach, Master Raunak Singh, an experienced army trainer.
The workshop was a response to the rising law and order challenges, aiming to equip Pink Force personnel with essential self-defence skills. The training focused on boosting their confidence and ability to handle potential dangers effectively.
A total of 35 lady police personnel actively participated in the session, where various self-defence techniques were demonstrated and practiced. The workshop empowered participants to safeguard themselves and ensure public safety. By learning these valuable skills, the personnel can now respond more effectively in critical situations.
Miss Erica J De Sequeira, a renowned international Jiu-Jitsu player and 3rd rank holder in world professional Jiu-Jitsu, brought her expertise to the workshop. Her coach, Master Raunak Singh, an experienced army trainer, provided additional guidance and support.
This initiative is a significant step towards creating a safer environment for both the police personnel and the public. By empowering lady police personnel with self-defence skills, we can build a more confident and effective law enforcement team.
